Garden Rooms and Extensions
Garden rooms, also know to many as orangeries, are beautifully oak framed structures with a lot of glazing flooding your house with light, and large patio doors creating a beautiful link between your home and the garden. Roof lanterns can offer even more light for those dull winter months, and coupled with a wood burner are the perfect cosy escape.
Detach your garden room from the house completely for an outdoor retreat that can be utilised all year round and offer multi-functionality whatever their purpose.
Incorporate trusses for larger spaces, or just for a bit more wow in a small space. Whether oak to the ground or sat on a dwarf wall, offering a nice sill surrounding the room, these additions to your home offer character and class.
The majority of our work has been constructed with oak, however we can incorporate the same traditional techniques to a softwood frame if you prefer the clean grains of a Douglas fir. Whatever the material, your frame will be handcrafted in our workshop in Lincolnshire, utilising traditional techniques with mortice and tenoned joints. We craft our frames to the highest quality, with no element standardised, meaning every one of our frames is totally unique. Even the pegs holding together the joints are made in our workshop.
After initial contact, we will arrange a site visit to get a feel for your home and the space you are looking to achieve. Whether you are wanting a traditional and cosy space or a modern and contemporary touch, we can work with you to develop a design you are happy with.
Our frames are then manufactured in our workshop and brought to site in kit form, where you will see most garden room frames erected within a day.
We utilise direct glazing across all our glazed frames, ensuring water tightness and quality as the frame ages. Our frames can be either treated or allowed to weather naturally, neither which will impact the quality or integrity of the craftmanship.
